MITCORER: A Unique Path to Success
24th August 2020 is a momentous day for MIT College
of Railway Engineering and Research (MITCORER), Barshi, as we celebrate the
Foundation Day of our College. It is a milestone to cherish the wisdom, value
and legacy that MAEER’s MIT is known for.
On
the very day of 2017, MITCORER was inaugurated by the auspicious hands of Hon.
Dr. Vishwanath Karad, a visionary, an eminent educationist, philanthropist and
an apostle of world peace. The establishment of a college dedicated to Railway
Engineering is an example of his foresight and commitment to the society. The
foundation of a Railway Engineering college in a place like Barshi is not only
his vision but also a part of the mission to pay back to 'Janmabhumi' where he
completed his schooling. It is a venture to contribute to the upliftment of the
society. This endeavor is marching ahead under the able leadership of Hon.
Swati Chate-Karad, Executive Director of MAEER’s MIT Group of
Institutions.
Three years might be a small time span for others but for us, it
was a journey through many achievements, impasses and disappointments at times.
It was a journey of enthusiasm and steady effort, which has brought us to this
platform where MITCORER is serving the nation in the best way by imparting a
spirit of inquiry in students mind, developing a sense of social
commitment, building a strong industry–institute interface and achieving
academic excellence. With the sole objective of meeting the long felt need of a
center, catering the dire need of skilled manpower for railways and which would
meet the challenges of the present and the future technical advancements in the
fast changing railway sector, MITCORER was established. It was envisaged that
it will stand out in providing one stop solution to all railway related problems
through demand driven skill development program and excellence in education and
research leading to successful career of a student.
Within a short period of time, MITCORER has traversed a path of
rapid development in creating technological know-how, academic excellence and
responsible global citizens. It has embarked on this unique journey of
providing personalized guidance to all students and ensuring sound exposure to
the latest practices in the industry. It is known for innovation,
student-centric pedagogical practices and holistic social development policy.
The students, apart from being sound engineers, are also leading cultural,
sports and technological forefronts at various levels. An event like ‘RailMIT’
attracts talent across the nation in the field of Science, Technology and
Engineering with special attention to recent developments and innovations in
Railways. The pedagogy at MITCORER not only imparts a global perspective in
learning but also cords them to the root of Indian values. This has resulted
into excellent academic results and overall student’s transformational
abilities. It believes in training students through practical demonstrations
thereby aiding to their theoretical knowledge by organizing industrial visits,
internships in industries along with strong collaborative industry-academia
dialog; small group teaching, guest lectures, seminars, assignments, tests with
continual assessment being a major part of its delivery methods.
Hence,
MITCORER provides a unique amicable ambience for curiosity driven innovative teaching methodologies and
evaluation strategies. It believes in excellence by
equipping students with basic
skill-sets, innovative research practices and
conceptual thought process in frontier areas of Science, Technology and Engineering
for furthering the career prospects and giving impetus to creative potentiality
in the field of engineering with special concern to railways. MITCORER
strongly upholds helping students to move forward
with a collaborative initiative to achieve all round excellence. It creates scientific temperament for holistic development of
the students for social cohesion and harmony, adopting high values thereby giving hand to the development of the nation.
