Importance of English in Today’s World

 


In Today’s world, the importance of English cannot be ignored. It is one of the most spoken languages in the world. People from different parts of the world having different languages as their mother tongue are able to communicate easily with knowledge of English. Nowadays English has become a language of education in many countries. If a student knows English well, it would be easy for him to get higher education from western countries. English- speaking countries have the best education offer in the world. In order to enter prestigious universities, such as Harvard University, Stanford University, and Oxford University, it is necessary for candidates who want to study there to speak English.

English speakers are very likely to have good job opportunities. For instance, most of the English-speaking countries, such as England and the United States are countries with a high gross domestic product where speaking English is the best way to get job opportunities.

English has become important to make a good career. Multinational companies prefer job aspirants who have a good knowledge of English. Moreover, documentation in offices is also in English language. Even the internet has more than half of the websites made in the English language. So, English helps in gaining a vast knowledge through the medium of internet. Learning a foreign language helps in developing our personality too.

In this age of globalization, the whole world seems like a platform where mode of communication is English.  We can share our ideas and communicate easily on this global platform with the help of English. English is the most common language used on Social Media. If you want to share your thoughts with more people on social media, then let English be your language of expression as it is a global language. 

English has been the global language for decades and it will be in the future too. It helps us to follow trends, technology and modernization. With so many advantages, learning English is always beneficial for everyone.

In a period of globalization and modernization, English language learning enables in transferring the individuality of a student into a personality. Hence one has to be honest, sincere and dedicated in learning all the subjects equally and update his knowledge by referring various books for which again English language learning plays a key role. To survive in modern society, English language learning is as important as water to us. It is also identified to be one of the factors for many graduates to be unemployed. The unemployed graduates are urged to polish up their knowledge in English and Communication.

The Barsi Light Railway

      The Barsi Light Railway between Latur and Miraj in Maharashtra was a pre-independence private company.) And set up a private company with a share capital of Rs. 7,014,477. The company's office was permanently located at Winchester House, Broad street, London. The Narrow-Gauge Railway, 2 feet 6 inches wide, was started on March 1, 1897, just 9 feet wide along Kurduwadi Barshi Road. The company's India office was initially located in Barshi and later in Kurduwadi. A. L. Alexander was appointed chief manager and agent. The duo of Alexander and Calthrop brought BLR a golden day by night. His salary was 2200 and 1500 rupees per month. Initially built only for Barshi Road (Kurduwadi) to Barshi, it grew to 323 km from Latur to Miraj in 1927, becoming the largest private narrow gauge railway in India.
